Sadie was currently looking at all the syrups at the Starbucks debating on which 5 to put in her drink. Last time was Blueberry, strawberry, and melon.... time before that was just the three fruity syrups... and before that, well they still had coconut so she pinacoladaed that one.
"What it be Say-Dee?" The cute barista asked her with his best attempt at a flirty smile. He always gave her a free drink because he liked her... although who didn't like Sadie?
"Tangerine, passion tea, put a little strawberry, and then melon. YEah... that sounds about right." She smiled as the guy marked her cup and set to work on her drink. As the sunlight peered into the store it made the beautiful ring that lay on a chain around Sadie's neck glimmer and sparkle. Sadie was shocked that so few people noticed it, that wouldn't last for too long.

Leah Sparks' heels clacked as she stomped into Starbucks, flustered and frazzled. What had started as a simple bad hair day had spiraled into the worst day Leah had had in a long time. And she'd been having bad days increasingly often.
She was in desperate need of a Vanilla skim latte. It was her comfort drink; the perfect thing to calm her down. She reached into her knockoff bag and pulled a twenty out of her wallet. She pushed her abnormally big sunglasses onto the top of her head and slammed the twenty on the counter. "Get me a Vanilla Skim Latte on the double!" she demanded, not really caring that she had cut a line of people and was now getting dirty looks from them. Who cared what they thought? This was a crisis!
Leah flipped her golden blond locks(in a pony tail today, to save her from this morning's bad hair day) over her shoulder before she spotted her little sister, Sadie. She waited until her latte came before walking to see her. She pushed the twenty toward him and walked away, hoping that said "keep the change" as much as she wanted it to.
As Leah approached her sister, she noticed something that she'd never seen before: Her sister was wearing a chain. And on that chain was a sparkling diamond ring. Leah's mouth formed the shape of an 'O' as she realized what it was. She pointed at it as her sister turned to her.
"What. Is. That?" She asked, pausing just long enough between each word for Sadie to understand that she meant business.

"This dear sister, is... I don't remember what Ethan up there put in it, but this smoothie thing is amazing... Want some?" She said knowing quite well she was being asked about her engagement ring and not her drink. It was one of the things she liked about Leah, she was so vauge all the time that it was easy to make fun of her.

Leah glared at her younger sister, mentally kicking herself while doing so. Why was she not more specific? Why did her sister have to make her life so hard? Why couldn't she have been an only child? It would have made life a lot easier, despite the recent truce between them.
"I'm referring, dear sister, to that thing around your neck. And don't even say the chain. I mean the thing on the chain." she said, correcting herself before Sadie had a chance to do the same thing twice.

"Oh my ring? Isn't it pretty? Jasper gave it to me when he proposed." She smiled biting her straw in excitement taking a small sip. Sadie didn't care who found out anymore, she was so HAPPY about it she just couldn't hold it in anymore.

"PROPOSE?!?!?!" Leah exclaimed, loudly enough for the entire population of the shop to turn and glare at her for interrupting their calm coffee breaks. She felt as if her eyes had popped out of her head. She had just found out that her sister and that loser were dating, and now they were engaged? How could this happen?
"When did this happen?" She hissed.

"About a week ago." She said with a smile half glad she got to her sister. "It was so cute, he tried to dress up for it and looked horrible, but in that cute way you know?" Sadie giggled, "He spent so much on the ring and he knows I'd be happy with some cheapy thing out of a quarter machine. Leah, I'm so happy and I couldn't see myself living without Jasper."

As much as Leah hated it, she was happy for her sister. Sadie really did look happy; Happier then she had ever seen her. But if she married a geek like Jasper Kercy.... Did Sadie have any idea what might happen to her?!?!?!
"Sadie, have you even thought about what Melodie is going to do to you when she finds out!?!? Do you realize that you could be the next Shasta, or worse?!"

"I don't care, he's worth it. I'm so in love with Jasper I don't care, besides I"m only staying popular for you." Sadie threw that out there on accident, she didn't mean to say it. 'Shit' she said mentally. Leah wasn't supposed to know that.

Leah opened her mouth to talk, but closed it again when Sadie said the words 'I'm only staying popular for you.' All this time, she had though that Sadie actually wanted the popularity she had. She didn't know wether to be mad or happy. Mad because Leah had worked hard to get the popularity status that she had, and Sadie just sort of got it becasue Leah was as popular as she was. Happy because Sadie cared enough to keep the secret for her.
"That's the only reason?" she asked, speaking quieter then she had been before.

"Well yeah, I don't care about being what Melodie thinks is popular. Popular is defined by the company you keep, not who you impress. I'm popular no matter what group I'm in, I have friends that care about me, thats what true popularity is." Sadie said with a shurg, her wedding band had yet to be visible to Leah.
When she had ran off with Jasper, Leah wasn't informed of the letter found on Sadie's pillow. Their parents were trying to keep things hush hush as long as they could. That ment not telling Leah, one thing Sadie was happy of. Leah would only have blown things out of porportion. Gripping her smootie tighter with her left hand, Sadie sipped paitently, waiting for the freak out she knew was coming.

Leah smirked at Sadie's little speech. Of course that was something that she would say. It was because of Leah that Sadie was as popular as she was; she didn't have to work for it!
In all her anger, Leah stamped her foot and looked down. As she was doing so, something caught her eye that made her jaw drop so fast she swore she'd broken it. There was a ring sparkling on Sadie's left ring finger, a different one from the one around her neck. "Sadie Lynn Sparks... You said ENGAGED! You said NOTHING about MARRIAGE!!" She said, her voice escalating in volume with each word.

"I'm sure the people at the Caraboo down the block heard you Lee, try louder next time." Sadie smirked sarcastically, "Well of course we're married, we eloped. I left a note too bad mom and dad didn't tell you. That's why they've been so weird around me, but I'm moving out soon. Jasper and I are going to live together."

"I DON'T CARE HOW LOUD I AM!!!" Leah screamed, truly meaning her words. True, she cared what people thought of her usually, but right now, she was too mad and shocked to care. "YOUR MOVING IN TOGETHER!?!?!?" She yelped, even louder then before. "Do you REALIZE what people will say about this, Sadie?"

"What people are already saying is that they can't believe it took as long as it did, and taht we are so perfect together rushing the weddign didn't matter because we'd be together forever. Do you know what people are saying about you? " Sadie shot the question back at Leah.
